Which I agree because everyone is always so focused on wanting to live up to everyone’s expectations when we end up becoming prisoners in our own bodies, meaning our souls are trapped because we have to follow society and what is the “right thing to do”. What is the right thing to do? According to Plato, the right thing to do is express yourself and to keep an open mind. The way Plato makes his metaphors makes me a firm believer in his views on life. Just like in any real life situation, and not just a metaphor, I will use a drug user for example. A drug user could be down in the dumps, they will do anything they can to get their hands on drugs, stealing from their loved ones, spending their money on drugs instead of their bills, and just not caring about the world. Well, until that drug user goes to rehab, they are at first shaken by not being able to be in their old ways because that was their lifestyle and a path that they ended up choosing, but once they got the help they needed they end up seeing the light and new opportunities, where now they can spend that money on a new car, not be in debt, and just be able to live a happy healthy life. Plato on the other hand, in my opinion, would say that this was supposed to make the person happy, but I will have to disagree on him with this one. But, the user is living a brighter
