How incredible to think that this temptation is so great that the Lord will send down a flying angel to communicate this message to the people on earth. This speaks to the Lord’s awesome grace and love towards all humanity. He does not long for the death of anyone’s soul, but that they should repent and believe (Ezek. 33:11). Death of the soul is not annihilation, but everlasting torment.
Humanity’s mythic stories of good and evil draw upon this real battle that culminates in real time-and-space. They all contain elements of God’s truth that have been handed down since the beginning in The Garden of Eden. This is the penultimate moment of: “Choose this day whom you will serve!” Absolutely breathtaking. Imagine those who witness it first hand?
