I entirely respect Fidel Lopez’s choice to not contain a grudge against the mob leader who enabled people to do horrible things to him, but if I were in his shoes I would contain plenty of hatred. I disagree with the decision he made toward the intentions he has. I also disagree with the fact Williams sentence was taken so lightly, but again Fidel Lopez continues to be the forgiving man he is and explains, “a harsher sentence… might only have caused more violence” (3). He understood the rage some people may have and still continues to this see the country beautiful. The most meaningful idea in this reading is when Lopez explains, “we haven’t heard anything about Fidel Lopez for almost 20 years. He decided long ago that he could consider himself an unfortunate soul or a lucky guy who – at a horrible moment in history – was saved by a good man”
