Mindy Kaling is Concerned I have an exceptionally limited list of TV shows that I actually enjoy watching, but The Office is definitely on that list. Along with favorite TV shows comes with favorite characters from that certain show. One of my favorite characters happens to be Kelly Kapoor, played by Mindy Kaling. In her comedic autobiography, Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), she explains how she got into the world of show business, being a comedic writer and performer, her experiences on The Office, and her overall concerns in life. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys learning about people’s life stories with life lessons that involves a comedic twist to it, and who also enjoys humor and sarcasm as much as I do. …show more content…
During her childhood, she was raised in a strict household where she wasn’t allowed to go out with friends frequently or leave her house during the weekends. She describes meeting up with three friends that she didn’t get along with, and she eventually left them for one of her less popular friends. Mindy says “One friend with whom you have a lot in common is better than three with whom you struggle to find things to talk about” (Kaling 43). As life goes into adulthood, you seem to lose friends, and not having as many friends as you once did is not always a bad occurrence. Being able to connect with one person better than three people means you have found a great friend, and I will carry this on with me as life goes
