The colonists had the right and reason to declare their independence from Great Britain because of the way they were treated by the British and how the event could have been prevented. Although, they were one united country the colonist were treated differently when compared to Britain alone. This unequal treatment validates claiming independence. Britain could have easily prevented many of these problems by simply taking into consideration the ideals of the colonist. The revolution was Britain doing and could have been prevented.
