You may be thinking then what do they? Well it actually is pretty simple and it actually comes straight from there name cowboy. Meaning that they are essentially just a Shepard, but for cows and that is why they ride horses. Since, we can move on from what a cowboy really is let’s try to find out what these film makers want us to believe these cowboys are. A perfect example of this is Searchers, now searchers is a film in which a man is trying to save his family from the harm the savage Indians will bring him, Which since they are savage makes is ok for repeated racist comments towards these Indians. Now these cowboys are doing nothing but going around killing Indians trying to find the rest of the family that the Indians haven’t killed yet. If we never picked up a textbook about US history we may think that these Indians were all savage and where the ones that caused years of suffering for their race. And the reason for this is because savage crazy Indians that do nothing but scream and kill sell tickets in the box office, and since they do they will be miss representing in films to this day. Everything from the way they look to the way they talk and communicate with each other is completely false and blown out of proportion. Now, let’s go in to the part in which they make these Indians look savage. At about the middle of the movie when the group of cowboys are looking for one of the sisters through the canyons. They find out that not only did these Native Americans kidnap one of the family members, but they raped her before they killed. Which was essentially taking away the purity of her, making her “less” than what she was before she was raped. Not only did they make it very clear that she was raped by the Indians, but what they really wanted us to understand was that she was almost less of a women because she was raped by the Indians. She was now part savage and this is something that every white person in this movie is trying to avoid. If you look into who the actors are in this movie you will be less than happy to realize who is the actor for this Indian tribe. The chief named Scar is played by a Henry Braydon, a white German-American smothered in brown makeup.
