Not only the dye was important though, so were the foods that were native to the new world, such as corn, potatoes and tomatoes, which people had built cities from growing those crops. When the Catholic Kings had gotten news of the new world, they wanted to convert the people of the new world into Catholics, but the Aztecs had firm beliefs and firm grasps on their own religion. This inevitably lead to the Conquistadors coming and committing the Catholic Conquests on the indigenous people of the new world. After the Conquests were over, the Conquistadors were told by the Catholic Kings that they were to treat the people of the new world like citizens of Spain, and this was called the new laws. But the poor treatment of the people continued, and eventually through this the Spanish found a mountain of Silver in what is now the Andes. This Silver could’ve brought Spain out of debt, but no one would work in the freeing
