Consumers were able to also experience the benefits of the Revolution by an increase in quantity for products as well as a decrease in price. What many did not take into consideration was the negative impacts industrial insourcing had on the American worker. Kristian Killgrove wrote an article on Forbes that describes the long term cancerous effects of the industrial revolution. The harmful chemicals not only contributed to pollution but it created and is still creating devastating results for workers that inhale the toxic chemicals on a daily basis. It is also equally significant to understand the sociological effects of industrial insourcing. With industrial sites in place in the early 1800’s, people migrated to the cities which ultimately created an influx in population. The cities got extremely overpopulated in a short period of time. With limited resources and technology, including lack of drainage systems, the drinking water would be contaminated with toxins from the streets as well as defecation from animal and humans. With the limited knowledge of how diseases or sicknesses were transmitted, the infections would spread like wildfire through the streets. Decreased product costs, higher paying job creations, decreased US pollution, international knowledge, expanded market exposure and foreign relationships are all beneficial factors for America that everyone should consider before excluding offshore outsourcing as a viable employment option. Although there are and will always be opposition and opposing arguments when referencing offshore outsourcing it is important to weigh the risk vs. the reward to determine what is best for the company, the employee as well as the
