Social media, an online means of communication, which millions across the globe use on a day-to-day basis. This is where peers are able to socially thrive over pieces of technology using popular sites such as Facebook and Twitter. These sites provide a source of casual, and simple communication, allowing persons to feel connected within a larger community. However With drowning amounts of teenagers and young adults using these sites uncontrollably on a day-to-day basis, is doing nothing but forming a barrier on true, meaningful communication. One main reason, which is clear that the constant reliability on social media for communication causes isolation, is through relationships. A strong relationship is built through communication, however by abusing social media to help create and deepen a relationship will do nothing but produce an isolation barrier between both lover and partner. By using social media to communicate it can become exceedingly time-consuming, making each other feel obliged to reply to each message that has been sent from one another. This both limits the social interaction face to face and prevents each other from doing other activities.
