Similarities And Differences Between Da Vinci And Michelangelo

The high Renaissance was a time period filled with art, such as, architecture, painting, and sculpting. It is arguably so that the main men leading the high Renaissance craze were Leonardo Da Vinci and Michelangelo. Two rivals, two artists and two of the most important men in history. Both men had an enormous impact on the world as we know it. In fact Leonardo Da Vinci is also known as the classic Renaissance man, a man who has many trades, talents and skills. Both men can be considered a Renaissance man and constantly battled for that title even though they were very similar men they had a strong hatred for each other. They shared unique talents and trades, they changed the world in different ways as well.

Michelangelo was born in Caprese but grew up in Florence Growing up Michelangelo’s family didn 't have many artistic talents so he had to learn on his own until he became an apprentice. On the flip side of the coin Da Vinci grew up in a town named Vinci, and his father was very supportive in his artistic desires and planted the seed of Da Vinci’s love of art. It is almost like Michelangelo was born with a chisel in his hands, the talented sculptor created one of his most famous sculptors David. David was a over 18 foot marble statue of the Bible’s David from David and the Goliath this by far is one of Michelangelo’s best works. Da Vinci is known all around the world for being the man who created the Mona Lisa. The Mona Lisa supposedly the portrait was for Lisa Gherardini, wife of Francesco Giocondo but other suspicions believe it is Da Vinci’s beloveded mother.
