The second one is consolidated model which is when the supervision of released persons is by commissioner of corrections. “The panel may consist of judges, psychiatrist, psychologists, criminologists and social workers.”(Sliver, 2014) Big factors that could get parole taken away could be age, education level, prior recidivism or record of crimes, and disciplinary problems in prison. Finally we have probation, it is describes as “ a community based punishment for lesser offenses that requires certain court ordered conditions.”(Lesson Block) Some conditions could be maintaining employment, and or attending school. Receiving substance abuse counseling or any other type of counseling is another condition. If one violates their probation jail or prison time may be served to that individual. The overcrowding in the jail and prison systems have played an domino effect on the probation and parole officers. “In an attempt to alleviate jail and prison crowding, however, probation caseloads are being populated with offenders that potentially pose greater community
