“It's ten more times expensive to kill them than keep them alive” states David Mccartin. So if it less expensive the keep them alive than kill them then why are why sentencing people to the death penalty? Isn't that one of the reasons that we are sentencing people to die, because it costs to much to keep them alive? “In 2007, time and money were the reasons that New Jersey became the first state to ban executions since the US Supreme court reinstated the death penalty in 1976” says the NBC News. New Jersey actually looked at the statistic and the facts about the death penalty and realized that they are putting a lot of time and money into something when there is another way that is cheaper and faster and they wouldn't have to worry about killing innocents. Why shouldn't the rest of the states take a step back and look at the bigger picture of the death penalty just like New Jersey did.
There are many reason to why the death penalty shouldn't be allowed, like going against religion to being killed is the easy way out and someone did not serve their punishment by being killed. But the main reasons why the death penalty should not be allowed is, it goes against the 8th amendment, the punishment is over too quick and the expenses of the trials are way too
