If you take a look at the article River Restoration Project Offers a Sprinkling of Hope, by Daniel Weintraub, it states in paragraph 16, “Although the argument was formula placed into federal law when President Barack Obama signed the Omnibus Public Lands Bill in March, the parties had been working on the restoration plan for more than two years, laying the...salmon fisher.” This relates to my thesis using ethos because when people find out that the president also gives a positive outlook on the project, them that gives off a vibe to people through emotions. We know this because if the president chooses one thing, then people start to think the same way as the president because they feel like it would be the best thing to do since he has authority. I agree with the president and Weintraub that this project is a good idea. Another good example that can relate to my thesis relating to pathos would be in paragraph 9, in the article River Plan Too Fishy for my Taste Buds, written by Bill McEwen, it states “The reality is, our federal and state governments will spend hundreds of millions-if not billions- of dollars...instead of sustainable fishery.” This quote can be related to pathos because he is making us think about the money and making us believe that it is not worth paying the price for something that 's going to be used for something else. This makes us kind of change our …show more content…
This is when someone gives credibility to support their ideas or thoughts. For example, if you take a look in the article River Restoration Project Offers a Sprinkling of Hope, by Daniel Weintraub, in paragraph 6, it states, “In these years when the salmon populations have been crashing throughout California, when the commercial fishery is closed again, restoring salmon...commercial salmon industry.” This quote was said by Monty Schmitt, a biologist with the Natural Resources Defense Council. He has been working on the project for nine years. This supports my thesis using ethos because It shows that Weintraub is not the only one who is for the project. However, a biologist is also with it and as we all know, biologist have really good and strong theories on everything they do. Another quote that supports my thesis through ethos would be in paragraph 10 in the article by Weintraub, it states, “We hope to get double duty of that water by taking it the long way around, we already...reliable water supplies.” This was said by Ron Jacobsma, a general manger of the Friant Water Authority. This supports my thesis as well by using ethos because the river project is also getting support from a general manager from a water company. He is giving credibility to Weintraub. Ethos supported by thesis by showing credibility from a biologist and a general
