Russia is a very interesting country with a fascinating culture, administrative political system, and a large economic environment. “Russia is the largest country in the world in terms of territory, with a total area of 6,601,668 square miles.” (Bradford) Therefore, many firms tend to try to do business with the country because of the huge economic growth and consumer market. Russia is a very diverse country that is made up of many different ethnic groups. It is important for a country to attract foreign firms to keep their businesses flourishing and since Russia has a very assorted population, foreign markets are more willing to take their business there. Similar to Russia’s diverse population, their political systems are also very dissimilar with their views and government. “There are over twenty-five registered political parties, although only five are substantial in size. Political fragmentation has been a problem, and coalitions between parties have been unstable.” (“Russia” Culture of Russia) Considering that the political parties continue to be delicate in Russia, there may be consequences for firms to do business because many industries feel the government is corrupt. These factors can affect the influence of an international business planning to take their business to this country.
