For the first time after the Second World War, European borders were violated, and politics of the East and West had dramatically shifted.3 Sizing Crimea, Russia changed rules of the international relations and confirmed beginning of shifting power in the international order.4 Actions that Russia took in occupying Crimea indisputably underlines Russian’s attempt to change the balance of power set after the Cold War and collapse of the Soviet Union. Furthermore, Russia with its actions, is trying to challenge and change paradigm of 1991 and President G.H.W. Bush’s proclamation of a “new world order.”5 Crimea is just the last step Russia took to undermine international order, thus gaining power in order to emerge once again as a great power state. Russia’s increased involvement in different world’s issues shows its desire to be once again one of the major players in the international scene.
