Some examples include when Tyrion points to the public the fact that he was the one that saved everyone in the war. “I saved you, I saved this city all your worthless lives”. He gave the soldiers he was commanding orders to hold back the opposing forces and in the end all the glory was giving to more honorable men. This shows that the citizens should be more appreciative towards him rather than criticize him. Another reference in his speech is when he mentions that “watching Joffrey die gave me more relief than a thousand lying whores”, Tyrion’s past lover named shay lies on stand exclaiming she knows that he was the one who applied to poison the wine. Shay’s past job was a prostitute which is why Tyrion mentions the phrase “a thousand lying whores”.
Tyrion used alliteration in the following phrases “Guilty, Guilty is that what you want to hear”, “I saved you. I saved this city…” and “I wish I was the monster you think I am. I wish I had enough poison for the whole pack of you”. This makes speech sound more hateful and disgustful while he is saying the speech. He uses Hyperbole when he mentions the “thousand dying whores”. Tyrion also alludes to previous actions he has done to save them from dying against Stannis, a king who wanted to rule over the iron
