Galileo built upon the great Greek philosophy Archimedes, who made many mathematical advancements. He also worked upon the ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle, who wrote about motion (“Aristotle”) and Nicolaus Copernicus, a famous astronomer at the time who was the first to state that the planets orbited the sun. However, Galileo did inspire many scientists’ work. In 1687, Sir Isaac Newton published a book about physics explaining how gravity worked. Much of Newton’s discoveries were inspired by the findings of Galileo. Also, anyone using Galileo’s telescopes were affected by his research and helped them. Throughout the years, people have oversimplified the work of Galileo. His studies were expanded upon by many famous scientists. Nobody knows how long it would have taken somebody else to discover the theories Galileo did. Future effects that Galileo’s research can have includes discoveries in space. Galileo’s improved telescopes and discoveries with motion and gravity can cause further theories in these
