In season 12 episode 13, “3 Acts of God”, the show did not hold back. Main character Peter Griffin blames god for the New England Patriots recent failures, so he begins trying to hunt him down to work out the problems. When Peter runs into his friend Death (portrayed as the grim reaper), he asks Death to take him to God so he can find the answer he is looking for. In the episode “heaven” is portrayed as a shiny resort with several flaws. God himself is portrayed as a blatant white male with long white hair and a long beard. But the portrayal doesn 't stop there; God is also depicted as having autism and freaks out when Peter touches his head. He also blames hating the New England Patriots because their head coach will never smile. This is a pretty powerful depiction that could undermine youth today. Firstly, God is depicted as a standard white male. This could be a turn off to all of those who are other minority races, and make them think that a religion like this could never be followed by their race. Second, the portrayal of god having autism may turn youth off when they want to recognize god as being the perfect being. And lastly, saying we are all created in his image, some may not want to be created in the image of a man that will punish players on a team and all of their supporters all because one man won’t smile. All factors involved portrays such as this do not put a good label on religion, but due to the shows mass following labels like this seem to be okay with society today showing a relaxed demeanor towards jeers at
