Nine months has passed and the time has finally arrived for me to apply my thoughts on paper and reflect on this amazing journey I have been privileged to embark on. A journey that has not just changed the way I apply my thoughts within the world of work but also within my personal life. I can honestly say that there are many mixed emotions attached in reflecting on the overall journey. Just thinking of some of the areas where I have been challenged in ways I have never been before, these include Charles helping us focusing more on who we are and how this impact ourselves and those around us. I have teams spread over various regions, certain team members new to the team and it is not always easy to keep them focused and motivated. I have learned that by having more frequent telephone discussions and/or one-on-one sessions as well as valuing their inputs truly makes a difference, they actually do go the extra mile for you and this reduces the risk of possible change fatigue. Some of the learning material that guided me in how to be more strategic when dealing with this constant change and minimizing any form of change fatigue within my teams, was from an article by Steve Shapiro on the CEB Blog portal. These include:
• Enforcing regular communications to concentrate on helping employees learn and adapt to new initiatives in general, rather than issuing top-down instructions for each specific project. (Steve Shapiro (CEB), 2017)
• Involve the team when making decisions and listen to their input
