In this class I learned about how to be a better team member. This semester I was reminded of how important communication is and how people need to keep emphasizing it as one of the most important skills any person could possesses. The personality test was useful, I think it gave all of us a good way to start to see how everyone is different. I strongly dislike public speaking, but I am working to improve my skills in that area because I know how much it’s needed in the workplace. There were many of my classmates who are graduating at the same time as me and it seems like we all have a lot to improve. We need more practice and more willing to put what we have learned in the past into practice. I know that during our college careers, we have heard from different people about what we should do when we are giving a presentation, but it looks like we did not take it seriously and now we are facing the consequences of giving a presentation like a high school student and not as an almost professional …show more content…
We all tried, but I think some of us took the project more seriously than others. Kevin was always late to our meetings event though when we created the team contract we agreed to be punctual unless there was an emergency. I doubt that there was an emergency every single week when we met. I am not saying that it was all his responsibility because we are all adults and can do our part, but what I am saying is that they were not behaving as adults. Even with all the misunderstandings and issues that the team members faced, we all combined our efforts to make the project a

There are areas of development I have come to identify and recognize in myself with the help of my peers and professors. First, communication pattern: “means frequency and quality of the actual ways each group member connects with other group members” (McKinlay & Ross, 2008, p. 35). I need to attain more verbal and non-verbal communication skills, such as learning to give my full physical attention to people. Another area I need to develop more of is my organizational skills; it is important to have good time management skills together with well-developed multitasking, and great attention to detail and follow through when facilitating because this would be of a great assistant to my group members. Based on the dynamic of my group, I identified…
