I find the field of cognitive psychology very interesting. There are many areas in cognitive psychology that are not fully understood. Therefore, there are many areas within cognitive psychology that can be explored. Which makes experimenting in this area exciting. Learning about the different theories has altered how I think about events in everyday life. For instance, how emotions are created is something I have questioned. Learning the theories of emotion has given me a better understanding on what are the potential causes. This can help me in everyday life. For example, I did not use to think about language effecting the way we think. Since it does, I can use this knowledge to better articulate my words during a discussion. This can help to achieve the desired outcome and avoid arguments. Also, when I feel emotional I try to stop and think why I am feeling this way. This can help me to decipher when …show more content…
Although, I would say that I am most interested in how every aspect of a situation causes the overall outcome. For instance, how you state something, the music you are listening to, previous experiences and your current emotion are just a few things that have an impact on the events of a situation. Additionally, I thought it was interesting learning about the controversies of what is consciousness. I feel strongly towards dualism. Throughout this course, my support towards dualism has been reinforced. It might be something that is hard to measure. However, I feel that in the future dualism will be further supported by research. Although, a small part of me feels unsure. There is a potential that all the complex function of the brain creates an illusion of a separate consciousness. This is something I would be interested in further challenging. Hopefully, in the future there will be better ways to explore the debate of consciousness. It would be interesting to review future studies in this
