Racism What do you think when you hear the word racism? Do you think of the recent shootings that happened in Ferguson Missouri, or do you think of Donald Trump? Have you ever thought about the reasons behind those incidents? The reason behind all of those incidents is, racism. Racism is not a one-way street, and everyone can be affected by racism. The definition that the dictionary provides for the term racism is: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. The candidates for the upcoming election are facing the wrath of racism. Donald Trump is known in the news for making racial slurs. This is making people reconsider their vote even when he has good ideas and recommendations for the benefit of our country. It is not only focused on the president, but many of our government officials are being affected by racism. For example, our current president, Barack Oboma, is our county’s first black president. He has to be the best he can be do make our country the best it can be, while he faces the people that show racism because of the color of his skin. If racism was not involved in our government, people would have a different outlook on how great our government could function. For example, the citizens of this country would take look at Barack Oboma just like they looked at our others presidents. We need to overlook skin color and look at what the person stands for and what they do with our country In conclusion racism is affecting our world as a whole and it is making our people in America resent others because of a color. We are all the same on the inside and we all have a purpose in this world. We have the opportunity to make a great decision on the upcoming election if the racism on all sides will stop. We all need to learn at an early age that racism is wrong and should not be tolerated.
