Racism What do you think when you hear the word racism? Do you think of the recent shootings that happened in Ferguson Missouri, or do you think of Donald Trump? Have you ever thought about the reasons behind those incidents? The reason behind all of those incidents is, racism. Racism is not a one-way street, and everyone can be affected by racism. The definition that the dictionary provides for the term racism is: the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races. When people are showing racism towards others, they tend to show their beliefs and hate towards them. People show lack of respect to the other people because they are not the same as them. Racism is affecting many aspects in our world today. I will discuss what racism is, the history of racism, how all people can suffer from racism, and how our world is becoming a victim of racism. My definition is similar to the the definition of others; racism is when someone is treated differently because of a difference they have from other people. Racism is wrong, and the people around the world needs to put a stop to it. The concept of racism has changed over time. For instance, the popular belief now in America is, white people showing racism towards black people. The news is full of protest over, law enforcement shooting the opposite race.
