Miss Gates talks about how Hitler is evil for killing all the Jews, and how being prejudiced against someone for their religion is wrong, yet she is racist against black people. So, she is a hypocrite for saying it is wrong to judge someone by their religion, but judging black people for their…
The Nazis, who came to power in Germany in January 1933, believed that Germans were "racially superior" and that the Jews, During the era of the Holocaust, German authorities also targeted other groups because of their perceived "racial inferiority"ed…
The first source I used to investigate the question was the book “German Minorities and the Third Reich: Ethnic Germans of East Central Europe between the Wars” published by Holmes & Meier Publishers, Inc. in 1980 in New York. Due to its publication year, it is a secondary, public source. Its target audience are historians studying the treatment of ethnic Germans between the wars. The purpose is to in form the reader about the situation of the German minorities in Poland because it is a secondary source. Furthermore it points out their living conditions and Poland's minority policies.…
The Dehumanization of Jews by Hitler and the Nazi Regime Hitler and his Nazi regime used effective tactics to dehumanize and degrade the Jewish people, and reduced them to nothing but small beings that they could then rid themselves of. Some of these tactics were small, and some of the tactics were large. No matter the size, all of these tactics were completely inhumane and horrifying. Sadly, they also all took place in the book Night, by Elie Wiesel. His memoir can attest to how dehumanization occurred, and how it helped Hitler achieve his goal; The Final Solution.…
Some of the most important human behaviors that have been part of why the Holocaust had occurred are Blind Obedience, Conformity, and Stereotyping. Blind Obedience is when you do things or follow orders without thinking. Conformity is when you want to be like everyone else, or you are doing things so that you feel like you are part of the community. Last but not least, Stereotyping. Stereotyping is when you are judging people/things by who/what they are.…
As World War I came to an end, there would be a rise in a fascist totalitarian regime that emphasized the need for a strong central government led by a single ruler. “Leaders who embraced fascism, such as Mussolini and Hitler, claimed that they were striving to build a new community on a national – not an international – level. Extreme nationalists, and often racists, Fascists glorified war and the military.” The development of such political philosophy influenced the ideas and beliefs of Adolf Hitler – a German Nazi dictator and National Socialist Party (NAZI) leader and founder. Ultimately, there would be an emphasis on war, nationalism, and even racism, that entailed the purification of the body of the nation.…
Fences of prejudices is what the world has become where the ignorance of the people have them separated due to differences in ethnicities. One of the fences that have left a great inconsolable memory around the world the fence used during the holocaust for the reason of. One being Jew and one being German, they were both separated and forbidden from interacting with the general population because of their ethnicity all this was enforced under the wing of the Nazi regime. This separation was portrayed by the long fence around the Auschwitz concentration camp that confined the Jews inside the fence. Throughout the holocaust times, societies were predominantly brain washed into trusting the commands of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi parties.…
Historiography Stefan Kühl explores this relationship between German and American eugenicists in his book, The Nazi Connection: Eugenics, American Racism, and German National Socialism. He states, “Attempts to separate eugenics from the Nazi program of race improvement were only partially successful. The personal and ideological links between eugenics and mass sterilization and extermination were too obvious to be overlooked.” Indeed, the two movements were linked, and this relationship influenced the racial policies of Nazi Germany. He concludes that “Nevertheless, the involvement of American eugenicists with Nazi policies reveals that the ideology of race improvement that was at the root of the massacres was by no means limited to German…
In 1933, the Nazi Party (NSDAP) took the controlling power of the Reichstag and turned Germany into a dictatorship under the leadership of the Führer. The goal of was to break Germany down and create a new Germany that will never be embarrassed or be defeated in warfare. To achieve the goal of turning around Germany’s current status in economics, industrial production, quality of life, and military strength, Hitler needed a plan to push National Socialism values on the German People therefore he used Race Hygiene to achieve the plan. The idea of the plan was to create a Master Race and eliminated the weaker races based on a person’s traits which are called eugenics The NSDAP plan affected men and boys immediately once the Nuremberg Race Laws were signed in 1935. (Notes-w7) National Socialism effected a male’s childhood, education, and the employment of German adult males.…
Those people remembered the turmoil in Germany after World War I and feared both the poverty and precarious politics of Germany in 1919. Hitler’s Twenty-Five Points of the Nazi Party Programme (1930) offered aid and relief to all those affected by the Great Depression and looking for a solution. Along with these points, Hitler bolstered support for himself by blaming the Jews for all Germany’s problems and declaring the Aryans the “master…
In 1935, Hitler also set up the Nuremberg Laws which institutionalized the racial prejudices into Nazi ideology. The laws excluded Jews from German citizenship and prohibited them from marrying or any relations to the people of German blood. Hitler did not just target Jews but also gypsies, Poles, Slavs, handicapped, homosexuals, and communists and socialists. He carefully chose who he was going to target, by using the preexisting prejudices that the German people already…
Crystal, I agree that America does have a history of discrimination that resembles the actions of Nazi Germany. Although many of our current practices are not as harsh, I can still see many similarities when I examine our history. While this is definitely a scary comparison, I think it is an important one to consider. As our group members have pointed out, most Americans today would be horrified to see any similarities between the U.S. in Nazi Germany. In a way, this comparison calls our attention to the discrimination we continue to practice in our country.…
In mainstream culture, children tend to focus on school and recreation, while politics has often been a subject that is present in the conversations of adults. In Nazi Germany, however, the social and political ideologies of Adolf Hitler and the National Socialist German Workers’ Party (NSDAP) was entrenched in the lives of millions of German youth, evidently by design. In his autobiographical book, “Destined to Witness: Growing Up Black in Nazi Germany”, Hans J. Massaquoi provides a unique perspective to the typical prototype of a German youth. As a mixed-race, German boy growing up in one of the most politically-instilled cultures in modern history, he was neither accepted by the Nazi regime, nor persecuted to Nazi Germany’s fullest extent.…
The Holocaust illustrated the consequences of prejudice, racism and stereotyping on a society. The tyranny and hatred towards jews was declared a social disobedience. This sparked the mass wave of incarceration. If persons did not hold or share the desired views of Nazi Germany, they would be incarcerated and segregated. Ever since the Holocaust the world has been at work to end prejudice.…
Under the control of Adolf Hitler, the Nazi Party grew into a mass movement and ruled Germany from 1933 to 1945. After Germany’s downfall in World War II, the Nazi Party was convicted of war crimes related to the murder of some six million European Jews during the Nazis’ control. But during his time, the Nazi created a program for the superior race this was called the Lebensborn program. This program was designed to breed the master race and stop the high rate of abortion which was at 800,000 in Germany due to not having enough men to marry. The Lebensborn program was founded in 1935, to help the population of Germany with pure blood Germans for the future of Germany.…
