Cultural discrimination is defined as exclusion, restriction, or hate that is directed towards a person or a group of people on the basis of perceived or real differences of cultural values or beliefs. In this article, the concept of cultural discrimination is present when the article talks about the view of Muslims in the eyes of the American people. One example it gives is how some Muslims reported that people look at them in suspicion and call them offensive names. This is clearly hate towards Muslims just because of the belief that all Muslims are bad people because of the terror group ISIS. Aversive racism is when there is racism towards a person or group of people that is hidden or not obvious. For example, if someone thinks bad about the African American around them but does not actually say anything to them, yet it is obvious the person does not like them, then this is aversive racism. In this article, aversive racism is shown when the article talks about how the government treats Muslims differently with increased monitoring.
