Poverty in Senegal – The Causes of Poverty in Senegal
Since human beings were created, they have never had a life that is more developed than the life today. Supposedly, with the all-remarkable developments in the world’s economic, education, and technology, there should not be countries that are suffered from poverty; however, there are some counties that are even below the line of poverty. Indeed, Senegal is of the African countries that is known as a third world country, which means that most Senegalese are facing challenging difficulties when it comes to life. Poverty in the world are caused by many factors. Some of the factors are natural, and the other half are manmade. As an African country, the history of slavery and the natural disaster are facts that play a significant role in the current situation of the country. In addition, the lack of education, economy, and greenspace are considered to be a major part of poverty as well as wars.
History of Slavery
Slavery in Africa started with the civilization in the first world countries. With the noticeable growth of cultivation in the world, people who lived in poor countries, such as Senegal, were taken as slaves. The history of slavery began in the middle of the 15th century, when Africa had an exclusive relationship with Europe, which caused destruction and depopulation in Africa.
