The world has many problems and one of the biggest problems is poverty. There are so many people in our world today that do not have the things that most people take for granted. Poverty affects thousands of people every day, as this fact found in an article says, Poverty is considered one of the world’s most intractable problems. It is defined as the state of not having enough money to afford basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, and more(Finley 1). This shows us that if there is people in our world that can not even afford the basic needs in life than other people need to start coming up with ways that will dramatically change the poverty rate. Poverty has killed millions of people that can 't afford anything and no one will put much effort out to see what they could do to help. Poverty just takes the life right out of people, Poverty is a silent killer. The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) figures show that 25,000 children die each day from poverty alone.(Finley 1). How can countries sit back and not try to make a big change in this when there is this many kids dying of hunger every day. We the world, need to work together and and change it. Poverty causes all kinds of diseases because the family can 't afford to stay clean and sanitized so the disease can come and kill them. Roughly 1.1 billion people in developing countries lack access to clean water, and 2.6 billion lack basic sanitation. This leads to disease and malnutrition. More than 6 million people die each year from preventable diseases such as malaria. According to the United Nations (UN), 25,000 people die due to hunger or hunger-related issues each day(Finley 1). This shows us that poverty is not the only thing that is killing people, diseases are caused by poverty which kills almost the same amount of people than poverty itself. Many places also take donations to put toward the people that are in poverty. Many programs have been made to help all of the families in need. Social Security and Medicare have reduced income poverty and increased access to health care among elderly people. Medicaid provides some groups of poor people with medical care(Page). This is what people need more of. I 'm not saying the government needs to give people free stuff when they have not tried to help their family their whole life but if they are trying to help their family the government should help them get back on their feet. Programs help the economy which will help the people in poverty by giving them jobs. In richer countries, these include "safety net" programs designed to help specific groups. In the United States, for example, such programs include unemployment insurance and job training programs for people who are out of work(Page). This program will help people get on their feet and start getting money in the house by training and learning what they will have to do for their job and nothing else. This will help boost the economy which will let the government spend more money on helping the other people that are in poverty. Their are some great things that are being done that has helped people get out of poverty but there is always more stuff that needs to be
