The world has many problems and one of the biggest problems is poverty. There are so many people in our world today that do not have the things that most people take for granted. Poverty affects thousands of people every day, as this fact found in an article says, Poverty is considered one of the world’s most intractable problems. It is defined as the state of not having enough money to afford basic needs, including food, shelter, clothing, and more(Finley 1). This shows us that if there is people in our world that can not even afford the basic needs in life than other people need to start coming up with ways that will dramatically change the poverty rate. Many places also take donations to put toward the people that are in poverty. Many programs have been made to help all of the families in need. Social Security and Medicare have reduced income poverty and increased access to health care among elderly people. Medicaid provides some groups of poor people with medical care(Page). This is what people need more of. I 'm not saying the government needs to give people free stuff when they have not tried to help their family their whole life but if they are trying to help their family the government should help them get back on their feet. Programs help the economy which will help the people in poverty by giving them jobs. In richer countries, these include "safety net" programs designed to help specific groups. In the United States, for example, such programs include unemployment insurance and job training programs for people who are out of work(Page). This program will help people get on their feet and start getting money in the house by training and learning what they will have to do for their job and nothing else. This will help boost the economy which will let the government spend more money on helping the other people that are in poverty.
