To begin with we can look at the way Puerto Rico has suffered in the recent wake of weather and power outages. The system of banking has been disrupted with the end result of the countries ATM’s are no longer available. This leads to a shortage of physical money to be used to buy needed resources (Press, 2017). Essentially commerce has come to a partial collapse, while many citizens have become inadvertently marginalised. A form of social and economic segregation is taking place.
