We all believe the things we assume we already know. If everything and everyone we knew were set free to go into the light and look directly at the sun, they would all come and run back into the darkness because they could not handle the honest truth and all of the real problems they face. One example is how we see people on social media. To us, they are perfect human beings that we all wish we could be. But, they all are so focused on body image. What we look like and what we wear. We are all so worried about getting others attention. We are brainwashed. If we could all break away from our chains, we would realize that no one is perfect and half of the things we believe are true, are not. Everything is completely different. When I started to read Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” I thought to myself that I would jump at the chance to be free and see what the outside of the cave had to offer. Then once I realized the true meaning of the story, maybe I wouldn’t want to be free after all. If I was one of the prisoners and I had just been told all of the things he had saw, I would also probably think he was
