This paper will discuss the interpretation of Psalm two. It will concentrate on the literary structure and the central message of Psalm two. The big picture that the author wants to visualize through Psalm two is about the coming of the Messianic rule of Jesus Christ as the King. This Psalm gives the reader theological positions that focus on Jesus Christ (Christocentric) that come to rule heaven and earth as the undisputed sovereign King. The primary theme of Psalm two is about blessed are those who take refuge in Him (2:12).

Other verses that mentioned about the reason on why the King that will rule over them will end the rebellions of man were seen in verse 2:7-9, where the Word says “I will declare the decree: The Lord has said to Me, ”You are my Son, Today I have begotten You. Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession…” This one stanza brings the affirmation from God about how powerful this King will rule because God has given the nations as His inheritance, the ends of the earth as His possession and He will rule them with full …show more content…
It also visualizes the affection to the Son because the Son has been anointed by the Father to be the heir of His inheritance and to rule over as the King. The phrase “kiss” has put a significant value to the Son more than anything. It shows that there is a blessing for those who loves the Son, get close to Him and take refuge in His authority
