According to Floyd Norris in his article titled “Fewer U.S. Graduates Opt for College After High School,” 65.9 percent of high school graduates are enrolled in higher education after high school. Deciding to go to college or join the work force after high school is a difficult decision because people don’t know what is better for them. Going to college after high school is more beneficial than going straight to work. It opens up better job opportunities and better wages. Not attempting to attend higher learning after college will lead to a less efficient life. Having a college degree will drastically open up the job outlook for graduates. Chris Blake’s article titled “The Importance of College After High School Graduation” says that every year, another great breakthrough in technology occurs. New technology, however, is not easily operable, and not meaning the new grill at McDonald’s. Different skill sets are needed that can only be provided through a higher level of education. “The Benefits of Having a College Education” by Jeff McGuire states that today’s job market is very competitive, so that degree is worth pursuing.
