Prior to visiting Somalia, all documentary shot depicts happiness between families, friends and even strangers. Work I produce often depict joy, yet this shooting had no chance to depict blissful feelings, as it is a country of depression and sorrow which I am in. Citizens’ bodies are filled with bleeding wounds, their faces are covered with bitter frowns and tears. They are crestfallen! Dry, dusty tradewind drive through the atmosphere as scenes of hungry, injuries and deaths flashed through my peculiar eyes while I was lead to the village-in-war. Infant tearing up due to hunger, little children mourn over the bloody death of their families, horrified villagers being threatened with an AK47… THAT angers me the most! They were not treated as if they were human beings. Soldiers, officers take advantages of the poor citizens, using them as a tool for victory, abduct their properties for a better living…
