First, there is evidence that peace resistance can change a society, generation, and the world through strong peaceful protesting that presents a strong stand for justice and what is right. There are many in our history that have demonstrated and showed that peaceful resistance work, such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Muhammad Ali who were strong civil rights activist that proven that this resistant works. These leaders, along with others, fought for a cause that was needed to end racial segregation. This is a fight that is going on today, but there are many people that are still fighting the fight of our activist from the 1960s against the segregation of African Americans, such as Rev. Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton has already been on the civil rights battlefield for a long time and has helped with civil rights since the 1990s. He is still fighting for justice for the terrible killings of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and Eric Garner. When thinking about this, the famous words or Henry David Thoreau (1849) “Let every man make known what kind of government would command his respect, and that will be one step toward obtaining it.” This shows that the people of this world still must fight to earn the respect of the government in the causes that we know are right and needed to be
