Growing up I’ve always saw Oprah Winfrey embrace such qualities that I could only imagine to obtain as I progress through leadership positions in business. Oprah Winfrey began with little to nothing but that didn’t stop her drive to become someone much greater in life. Unlike other CEO’s you may have heard of she didn’t just get picked to become a Chief Executive Officer, but rather created that job position and title for herself. Most people only know Oprah as the typical talk show host on The Oprah Winfrey Show that aired from 1986 to 2011, but what is hidden from the lime light is the creation of launching her own Television Network called the Oprah Winfrey Network also known as OWN which opened many avenues for her in the professional world …show more content…
She strived to treat all of her audiences the same every time and always found time to thank them and give them a treat of some sort for attending her live shows. Even after The Oprah Winfrey Show went off air she found a way to quickly bounce back and revive her presence. Throughout Oprah’s Career she has been very open and truthful with her experiences that have occurred in her life to the public eye with no resentment. For example, when many public source outlets asked questions about her childhood environment she explained how she grew up in a poor family structure and along the way she encountered sexual abuse relations, but used those downfalls in her life in turn to make her a more resilient Woman and better yet a to many people all across the world an inspiring individual. Just knowing that she doesn’t mind being in a vulnerable state to tell her story and allow others the ability to get insight on what occurred in her past displays a well rounded sense of openness. That 's 5% more than the 255,000 people, on average, who tuned in to Discovery Health during prime time for roughly the same time period in 2010 (Schuker, 2011). It seems as if things are smooth sailing for now under the leadership Ms. Winfrey has her television network bound by.
