The One Punch Can Kill campaign (also referred to as the Coward Punch campaign) is a public relations campaign designed to raise awareness to citizens about drunk violence and how one punch can kill. (Queensland Homicide Victims' Support Group, 2013) This campaign became extremely well known all throughout Australia after the incident involving an 18 year Brisbane boy, Cole Miller, who was killed by just one drunken punch which launched a nationwide campaign involving Australian boxer Danny Green. All public relations campaigns, including the One Punch campaign, can have one or more of the public relations theories applied to it. This organisation aims to persuade the youths of Australia to promote responsible consumption of alcohol and control violence towards others when is a non-safe environment. The One Punch Can Kill organisation, however makes clear how they are aware of the role that violence plays in society and do not aim to completely diminish it from society as long as it is practiced in a safe environment, for example; a school wrestling team, or other sporting team which may involve violence. It is very important that this organisation has made this clear because it would be near impossible to eliminate violence in society all together so the campaign is focussing of alcohol infused violence which is often the most dangerous.
