(An analysis of the basic views of a Totalitarian style government)
Not many areas in the world today operate as a totalitarian type of government. The term totalitarian is defined as a system of government that is dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state. Obviously now it is extremely easy to see that the United States is not one of these dictator-type governments. However, there are a few places around the world that are ruled with a totalitarianism type of government. North Korea operates under a totalitarianism government, they rule with a total fear type of idea like Hannah Arendt describes, and the basic views of North Korean government is to keep complete power.

Kim Jong Il sleeps four hours a night, or if he works through the night, as he sometimes does, he sleeps four hours a day….His micromanaging style is less Caligula, with whom he has often been compared, and more Jimmy Carter on an authoritarian tear.” (Maass). Obviously, Kim Jong Il is completely obsessed with everything running smoothly and keeping an eye on everyone so that nobody can try and overthrow him. Some sources say that the place is absolutely fake and kind of just insane. “There really is no place quite like it, a surreal time capsule largely devoid of mobile phones, cars and electric light; a land presided over by the world's first hereditary Communist, Dear Leader Kim Jong-Il, whose deceased father remains Eternal President of the place I like to call the 'Land of Eternal Happiness'.”
