Her main focus was to destroy the black boxes that contained treasured, corrupt information that the government didn’t want to be revealed to the public. Similar to the Angel Temperance, Nikita is working with opposing forces good and evil. “She demonstrated the law of the opposites and how they functioned together in a complementary fashion through Alex.” Unlike, the Temperance Nikita is human and in the reading it is indicated that the temperance is neither a human nor one of the gods but is an allegorical figure. Her manipulative skills have allowed her to attain all of the black boxes, however the last black box that she has collected turns her entire world upside down. Flashbacks of events that happened to Michael and Alex played a role in why the exposure of Percy and Division was obligatory. One of the present cards pulled from the 21-card-reading, the Nine of Stones indicates that one has the ability to relate to ancient knowledge or in other terms “past wisdom”, and the ability to relate knowledge and pass on the lessons of ancestral memory” (Ryan 138). Relating of this knowledge is required for Nikita in this trying time of her life. Michael and Nikita had a very strong connection prior to Nikita’s escape. Thus, she shared the feelings of Michael about the death of his wife and daughter. In 2003, a man named Kasim Tariq murdered Michael’s family. Michael continuously tells Nikita the story of his now-deceased wife and daughter, thus this aids to remind her of her self-actualizing goal. Similar to Michael, Alex’s family was also murdered. With this, Michael joins forces with Nikita in hopes of killing Kasim Tariq. Once, Nikita and Michael confront Kasim, he informs both of them that Percy was behind the murder of Michael’s family with intentions of killing Michael primarily. Nikita still murdered Kasim after finding out the truth about who requested the murder. This is contrary to the temperance card, which promotes balance and patience.
