I find it pretty crazy, that one person can get something from a piece of research while another person, can something completely different. We can tie this together with de Saussure’s argument that the mind makes sense of the world in binary positions. An example of this, we could use is the Church in the Dark Ages coming into the Renaissance. Back then, people were either considered to be doing research for or against the church with not much in between. It wasn’t until later on that they had the ability to really interpret the Bible in different ways which broke the church into smaller denominations. Once you switched from being on the churches side to not on their side, you could question more claims that you have been brought to know. This gives the opportunity for new interpretations and to really broaden the different views there could
