In 1995, NOW organized the first mass demonstration focusing on violence against women and drew in a quarter million people. In 2004, the March for Women’s Lives became the largest mass action of any kind in U.S. history, which brought in a record of 1.15 million people to advocate for women’s reproductive health options. NOW’s actions have brought great success in the changes that has put more women first in today’s society. NOW has six issues: Reproductive Rights and Justice, Ending Violence Against Women, Economic Justice, LGBTQ Rights, Racial Justice, and Constitutional Equality Amendment. NOW believes that reproductive rights are issues of life and death for women, not matters of choice. NOW is completely on board with access to safe and legal abortion, to effective birth control and emergency contraception, to reproductive health services and education for all women. They are against attempts to restrict these rights through legislation, regulation, or Constitutional
