Case study one – (Explain how the musculo skeletal system structure is suited to the function it performs. (2.1) Mrs C is pregnant and wants to pick up a ball, describe in depth which parts of the musculo skeletal system are involved in this movement and which structural parts provide support and protection of the vital organs.
The musculo skeletal system consists of bones of the skeleton, muscles, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and joints, they all work together to provide the body support, protection and movement. The bones protect the body’s internal organs for example the rib cage protects the lungs, the skull protects the brain and the spine protects the spinal cord, it also supports the weight of the body and moves the body with the help

(3.1) During exercise describe the combined actions which the circulatory, respiratory and digestive systems performs
The circulatory system consists of the heart, arteries, veins and blood. Powered by the heart, it is the bodies distribution system to organs with oxygen, hormones and nutrients that help the body function. The circulatory system helps the body maintain a normal body temperature and provides the right chemical balance to provide the body’s homeostasis. The Circulatory system is a network of tubes that can carry materials to cells in the body and carries waste away. The heart is an organ that contains tissues such as heart muscle and tendons, the heart muscles are formed from the heart muscle cells. The heart consists of the pulmonary artery which carries deoxygenated blood from the heart to the lungs, the vena cava brings deoxygenated blood from the body to the heart, the left ventricle is responsible for pumping oxygenated blood to tissues all over the body and right ventricle is responsible for pumping oxygen depleted blood to the lungs and the pulmonary vein brings oxygenated blood to heart from lungs. The arteries also branch many times and the smallest branches are known as capillaries, capillaries carry blood very slowly so that materials can exchange. The main function of the circulation system is to transport blood via red blood cells

The circulatory system keeps the heart pumping and the blood flowing, the respiratory system allows us to breath and exchange oxygen and carbon dioxide, oxygen is passed into the bloodstream which is part of circulatory system. The digestive system provides digested food then certain products are absorbed into the bloodstream again part of the circulatory system, every part of these systems has a purpose and each work together to maintain life.
Case study 3 – (Explain the roles of the nervous, endocrine and urinary systems in maintaining homeostasis. (4.1) Case study Mr. W is planning a trip to the Sahara Desert, on the way he picks up a hitch hiker with diabetes. The man wants to understand how blood sugar levels are normally controlled, and needs to understand how the nervous and urinary system will work together to maintain
