Anatomy is the scientific term for the study of the body structure and physiology is the term for the study of the function of the body’s organs. During the class, we dissected a pig. We did it to compare the human body and its organ systems with the pig body because they are similar in function. We defined each system and the organs that belong to each one.

The external anatomy of the pigs are similar to the human, they ears, eyes, nose, mouth, etc. On the belly I saw the umbilical cord which connects the fetal pig to the mother placenta as well I saw the mammary papillae of the female fetal pig.
When we opened the pig and take the small and large intestine, the appendix, the pancreas, the liver, the stomach and the kidney, we find the fetal pig ovaries that way we find out that it was a female fetal pig, then we take out the heart, lung after that we take out the eyes, the tongue and the brain.
The small intestine is the part of the intestine where 90% of the digestion and absolves of food occurs.
The major function of the large intestine is to absolve water from the remaining indigestible food matter and transmit the useless waste material from the body.
