Known to be one of the most significant celebrated sports figure in the 20th century. Also influenced millions around the world to never give up on their dreams. Turning down the chance to fight for america and a living legend on the battlefield. His rejection leads to multiple revolts against his decision and during his boxer career which was about skyrocket out the boxing industry. The decision in April 1967 led to him being forced into court found guilty of draft evasion and was immediately stripped of his boxing titles and licence. He also found guilty for violating service laws and was sentenced to five years in prison in June 1967, fortunately overturned by the Supreme Court in June 1971. Unwilling to be taken away to not fight in battle and wants to fight instead. “Ali had a lot of people confused when he refused to go to war, he had no risk of thinking it over which he became even greater and more humane” (Robinson 3). Ali’s popularity was higher than any other person and he had did things to do on and off the ring. His refusal showed america that not everybody should be chosen to fight for america.
The Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s was a time not everybody getting together and to live in perfect society instead it's violence. After one his biggest fights in his boxing career, in 1960 Ali converted his religion to Islam and supported The Nation of Islam. He changed his name Cassius X( later to Muhammad Ali in early 1970).
