She wanted to be around us and seemed to wear an unmovable smile on her face. Then the girl came to us and asked if we can pray for her mother. She innocently requested, in spanish, that she doesn't want her mother to have to work so hard, washing clothes anymore. We gladly accepted the request, and prayed. What fascinated me about the child's request is that there are a million things she could’ve asked for yet she choose to care for her mother. After the confrontation, I noticed the joy and faith that overwhelmed her eyes. She had so little yet acted like she had everything. That little girl was the symbol of what true happiness in life actually is, and how it can be gained. Wealth and fortune can never bring one true joy.
I, admittingly, will forget my priorities in life that are truly important. I will look at what others have and want it as well. My mission trip to Ecuador has changed my whole perspective on how life should be lived. The people that should be praised, are those who own very little yet never complain. I perceive my life differently now. No matter what hardship life will toss in my path, I will think about all the love I own and be
