15). According to Kreitner and Kinicki the characteristics of both human and social capital are the key to organizational success. Developing the human capital in organizations is key for when managers hire, train, develop, and dismiss employees in order to improve the human side of an organization (Meier, Favero, & Compton, 2016, p. 266). With Whole Foods one of their core functions is to hire individuals that are good people, who are trained well, and good at their job. While it is up to management to make these decisions in hiring qualified individuals they also have to be held to the same standard. If management possessed the same characteristics and mindset as employees the employees will provide better service and be happy with their job which will assist in the social capital of the organization. As stated social capital results in good relationships, trust, teamwork, and shared values have the ability to change the dynamic of the workplace or employee. Establishing good trustworthy relationships between coworkers, management, investors or whoever within an organization builds stability, dependency, and loyalty. Based on the reading and my understanding the building of human and social capital surrounds the foundation of an organization. If an organization builds a company on trust and develop good relationships, they will hire individuals of the same mindset. Hiring and training those individuals assist in the service that will be provided to customers or the target market. Once that target market is established then the resources will grow and more relationships will be established that can be profitable. Human and social capital work together in the development or reconstruction of an organization.
