The British were very upset with the residents of Massachusetts and decided to put them under strict supervision by enacting these acts. Some colonists from Massachusetts decided to help and give back by donating money back to Parliament. On the other hand, other colonist from Massachusetts decided to hold their ground and not pay at all. Under the Intolerable Acts, there were four additional acts in this category: The Boston Port Act, the Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, and Quebec Act. Some of these acts were put into place in regards to the government. With all of these acts in place, the colonists felt the British had control over them, when they should not have. Most of these notable events were related to Parliament taxing the English colonists, without having representation in Parliament. But finally in 1775 the British and English colonists erupted and the outcome was the Battle of Lexington and Concord, which was the start to an eight-year war. The night prior, on the 18th, the British troops decided to invade the English colonists in Lexington.
