According to the history of buddhism, it has taken many different forms. Such as Theravada, Mahayana, Zen, Nichiren, Tendai and Pure Land are the main forms of Mahayana Buddhism.

Nichiren says “among the teaching of the lotus Sutra, that of women attaining buddhahood is foremost.” Nichiren sends letters of encouragement to many female followers and gave several the name “Shoin” or saint. The strength of faith and independence of spirit shown by these women impressed him deeply. Other forms of Buddhism say that females are not allowed to attain enlightenment or Buddhahood. Nichiren Daishonin thouh other wise. He thought they are the fundamental base of becoming enlightened. According to the Orally transmitted teaching it says:” the bodhisattva Wonderful sound represents the living being of the Ten Worlds. The word “wonderful” means inconceivable The “sound” refers to the sounds attained by all living beings, the voice of the wonderful law. These are that wonderful sounds that are constantly present in the three existance.
