Locke, Montesquieu, and Rousseau’s written words stirred the people into having the ability to thinking for themselves. The people needed a way to change the way they were living. The representative went to french government. They were kicked out of government. This created a set back of showing and proving to monarchy they were in need. The overcame the obstacle by creating the tennis court oath as way of continuing to talk about the changes they needed. It was not only the third estate who needed change there were people of the first and second estate who wanted to changed some rules of society. The people wanted to have rights; their needs came with opposition. Rousseau used his words to try and sway the monarchy to change it’s ways. He used his words to empower the people, to give them new ideas, and to give them hope for a new way of life. The were enflamed by the words or writers such as Marat, Rousseau, and Dontan.
