All in all, both poems uttered a similar theme and that was that the Dust Bowl was a horrific and petrifying phenomenon that scarred many people for life both mentally and physically. But, both poems really preached the ideas of unity and optimism during times of hardship in life, as that will most certainly help one overcome adversity. Now, think back to Dust Bowl. As one steps outside into the gray smoke, ash and dust, they look up at the looming tower of dust, dirt and ash that is coming their way fast.
