In “What is Poverty” Jo Goodwin Parker speaks about how much she has gone through raising her children on her own with a low paying job and receiving very little help from the government. As a reader it creates true sadness knowing that there are people out there suffering from this that maybe a never ending cycle to them. I understand Jo Goodwin because I know people are really struggling and it is sad but it comes back to the government, maybe if they would make another law to investigate people once in a while rather than taking away from the ones who worked for it and also need it, there would be more help for the ones who are struggling and need that push. No good comes from Kurt Vonnegut to make most feel any less of themselves just to make others feel better. One shouldn’t feel any less just because one is born ugly, becomes poor, or is disabled, everyone is born into this world destined to go through different paths.
Both articles are very informative and into detail which is why I am undecided of which one I go with the most. By seeing both perspectives I am unable to choose one because there is so much that could be done to solve both situations. I came across this quote I liked from an unknown author “We are all in the same game just different levels, dealing with the same hell just different devils.” Everyone’s is here for a purpose which is to live and survive this life, some just struggle with different battles every day and all we can do is hope for a better
