The two creation stories are very interesting in their plot. One is from a religion that has molded the world we now live in today and another from a long lost forgotten culture that only a few know about. Even though these cultures are hugely different they have uncanny similarities and very understandable differences which proves that humans are connected by nature. The first thing that comes to mind when reading these two stories is “What is with the fascination with trees.” It kind of makes sense in the fact that the people from the past and the present are fascinated by trees. In the Native American Story the chief’s wife is the one that was saved by the animals and also cause the creation of the world. “ You see she craved a drink made from the roots of the great tree.” Also the Christian Story makes reference to a woman creating change by Eve eating from the Tree of Knowledge and also feeding Adam the fruit. “‘The woman you put here with me- she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.’” This probably caused the mistreatment of women throughout time in the Christian culture but in the Native American to respect women. But also when comparing two stories you need to talk about the contrastes, such as the connection with nature in different cultures. The Native American story makes it seem like we should respect nature and allow nature to be free from constants since they helped the creation of the world and saved the Skywoman. However in the Christian stories it talks about how God created man to control the animals and to feast on them as well but also to use them to make sacrifices to god to forgive there
