Throughout 2016 4 million people visited Cuba. Due to the recent hurricane, this sector of the economy was damaged. Another way which Cuba is gaining revenue is through “remittances” this is not the type of remittances which other countries receive. These are at risk capital investments made by private business and governments. Since doing business in Cuba is illegal remittances is a way to invest without actually investing. This type of business makes it easy for people to launder money by investing in property.
The most significant economic change was the authorization of self-employment, and far fewer restrictions to the guidelines their business had to follow. This created many small businesses such as restraints. there are fewer restrictions Now there is a private economy with 2 million employed in this sector. Out a population of 11 million people with many lying in over or under the working age, 2 million is a large portion of the population.
